In Season 4, episode 3, Don walks into what he expected to be an empty ofice and finds Lane in his (Lane’s) office. The wood type assemblage to Don’s left as he comes in for a drink may be my father’s, but I can’t get a large/clear enough look at it.

I believe it was painted by John Carroll Wenzell during the 60s. He was my great grandfather and a prolific painter living in Long Branch, New Jersey during this time. Arts magazine listed him as one of the foremost primitive painters living in New Jersey in 1974. Among other things his work was displayed at the World Trade Center at the New York Harbor Festival in 1979. His style was very distinctive and everything about this painting in Mad Men screams Wenzell.
